Arms loaded with beer and gift bags, Red and I decided to hit the venue early at about 4:15.
We pulled around to the back and spotted the tour van carrying the members of Wednesday
13. After a long 20-hour drive from Chicago they had just arrived and were scrambling to
check in, load their equipment inside and get started with soundcheck. The goodies would
have to wait and, considering how beat they looked, it was completely understandable.

Moving around to the front of the venue, we got the chance to run into Jussi 69 who
happily posed for photos and signed autographs for other eager fans that had arrived early.
Damian sought out the first pic and was well-rewarded with one of his best pics ever! Red
and I had the chance to chat with Jussi in between our picture opportunities and tell him
how excited we were to finally be in the same country at the same time to see them play.
We gave Jussi the gift bag for The 69 Eyes and he was thrilled with his goodies, proudly
flailing the bright pink bag around as he took a walk towards their RV. (Should have gotten
a picture of this as the visual was hilarious, but we were laughing too hard)

We also got the opportunity to speak with Jyrki briefly and take a couple of pictures
with him. He was very gracious to his fans and ourselves, asking Daniel to give him just
another moment to visit with us and get the pictures taken before he rushed
off to an interview. Thank you, Jyrki for being so wonderfully human and taking time for
your fans in an obviously hectic schedule!
