Upon arriving at the venue fairly early, Myself and Lizzie had the opportunity to meet some great people in the queue. Although quite a
cold evening, it was nice to have a warm company of people to queue with, and a range of ages.
Additional to my 1st Dope Stars Inc gig this was also my 1st experience at Slimelight and I was met there with both anxiety and
excitement.
On entry to the venue we made our way up steps and headed to the stage area on the 3rd floor, after getting fairly near the front we
were treated to a amazing set by DJ Angel and even those who wouldn’t want to dance and get involved were encouraged by his
awesome enthusiasm and excitement for the music he played. An added crowd pleaser was the presence of Dope Stars Inc onstage
and next to the stage.
After Angel’s set we experienced Richard Christ which to begin with was slightly hindered by the unfortunate problems with the main
microphone stand and audio problems but once in full flow was high energy right from the start. I was particularly enthralled by
Richard’s amazing pink PVC coat.
Before Dope Stars Inc took the stage Liz and I had the opportunity to speak to Victor and Darin and they were kind enough to sign
our cds and booklets inside, so many thanks to them for that.
A short while after the wait was over and Dope Stars Inc hit the stage, it was one of the amazing shows I’ve seen in some time and
they played such crowd pleasers as ‘Make A Star’, ‘Theta Titanium’ and ‘10,000 Watts.’
During the show, Victor asked for the Strobe lighting to be reduced as it was blinding both the band and the audience.
Seeing this band play has invited me to become more open to new types of music and I have most definitely become a very keen fan
to their music and tunes.
I would like to thank Lizzie for introducing me to such an amazing band musically and encourage anyone who has not witnessed 1 of
Dope Stars Inc shows to get to 1 and it will be a guaranteed enjoyable experience.
