Upon arriving and getting inside and settled, myself and my mate made
our way to the balcony section of the Astoria. This was just in time to
see the first support band, Logan take the stage. I must say they were
really good, and it was a surprise to me to learn they were unsigned and
were struggling to get a record deal. The lead singer, Kenny had a really
good voice, and on top of that had a great stage presence, even going to
the front row to see fans.
The second support band was called The Answer and I was extremely
impressed by the lead singer’s amazing voice, which sounded like Robert
Plant. The only downside to his performance in my personal opinion was
that the band did not interact with audience enough.
Before Alterbridge came onstage I had to move where I was standing
because a guy behind me with a huge attitude to match, decided to kick
me about three times in the back because I was standing up, so when
some guys next to me moved and jumped on to a lower balcony they
offered for me to join them and of course, I accepted.
Anyhow once on the lower balcony (and by the way thanks to the guys
who helped me out), I had an even better view of the stage and just in
time for Alterbridge to hit the stage at 9.30pm.
As expected they were really good, and the fans were even more enthusiastic than my previous experience of watching them
at the Download Festival earlier this year.
Myles Kennedy was in great voice, and the drummer treated us to two amazing drum solos. I must admit though I was blown
away by Myles’ guitar solo, I mean I honestly had no idea the guy could play so well!
Additional to this Michael Tremonti (originally from Creed), played a great guitar solo as well.
At the end of the gig we had the chance to meet the guys from Logan who were great and they signed our cds we brought
from them and we had photos with them as well (quite honestly these guys are great and I hope to hear more there stuff in
the near future, well worth checking out).
Anyway all in all had a great time and a memorable night!!
