Imperial Vipers In the United Kingdom written By Jaxxi D
The Imperial
Vipers Interview
May 3rd , O2
Islington
NF/        Hey guys how have you been?

IV/        Yeah we’ve been sound, just finished sound check at the O2 Academy
Islington went really well, Ash had a bit of a sore, tickly throat, other that  yeah
we’re good.

NF/        What have you been up to since we last saw you?

IV/        Recording an album, with legendary producer Steve Power, and legendary
band The Imperial Vipers (laughs), but yeah and album and just playing  shows
really.

NF/        How has the year been so far for you?
IV/        Good, had a few ups and downs, and some brilliant reviews.

NF/        That was the next question actually,

IV/        Ah ok yeah we’ve had some brilliant reviews they’ve been like 5/5 or 8/10
ratings, 1 rock magazine didn’t give us such a good rating, nah but like Rock  Sound was, Rock Sound was brilliant, er Classic
Rock, you know great  people that work for that magazine, and erm some of the other 1’s, but its  like Corky said you cant be
sort of ah yeah we got a great review and then         start whinging when you get a not so good 1 you know.

NF/        With you new album out now how do you feel your music has developed?

IV/        We think this new album has been a massive leap, definitely much more  social aware, and more aggressive, more subtle
in places,  more focused and   just a bit more commercial really.

NF/        With the summer heading towards us do you guys have plans with what you   will be doing in the next few months?

IV/        We hopefully will be getting a tour, go on tour with a couple of other bands,  same sort of level as us, and that is
probably gonna be about 14 dates, I think that’s for July time, and we will have some smaller festivals in the summer,         but
we really wanna be playing leeds and reading to be honest.

NF/        Do you have a favourite song on the album and if so which 1 is it?

IV/        It would probably be Broken, because its probably be the best piece of work  on it.

NF/        Going back to the summer thing is this a time of the year you guys enjoy?

IV/        Yeah we love the summer.

NF/        In respect to the show tonight and other gigs do you think you will get a good reception from the audience?

IV/        Yeah I think, its all down to our playing to be honest, that’s what we stride for  we give 100% all the time, we played
last night over in Hertford that was pretty much packed out, and kids love us,  its good cos there’s a much  younger crowd
there, like kids that are 14, so for our music to appeal to kids  like that and all ages we’re doing something right. There’s the
whole new  album we’re playing as well.

NF/        What’s your favourite movie of this year been and why?

IV/        The new Batman was good,

NF/        What has been your favourite venue to play so far and why?

IV/        Oceanfest I think that was just packed out.

NF/        What should the fans expect from you for the remainder of the year?

IV/        As a band we just wanna be getting out playing anywhere and everywhere,  and getting people to hear our music and if
promoters will give us a fair rating, same with radio, they’re so like not wanting to step outside there  comfort zone, we are
trying to do something else and stand on our own, we  will keep steaming ahead, and do what we do.

NF/         That sounds good, so can you leave us with a final thought?

IV/        The albums out on Itunes, the front cover of our album is our high street!! And this is a final thought, the local
politicians moaning about us using our  high street, as our album cover, when they are the only people who can really    do
anything about changing that , you know they was like it portrays our   town of Dunstable in a bad light, it is how it is, we just
took a photo, and asthey say the photo never lies!! But yeah we are very positive about our town  of  Dunstable and you try and
do something and it is how it is there.

NF/        Thank you for your time

IV/        Thank you
