Robin Black -  Lizze

Robin Black, The Pleasures, Patchwork Grace, and The High Society
The Dome, London
Aug 6th

Once at the venue, we were introduced to Robin by James Riot his UK tour manager and proceeded to interview Robin prior to the
show. Additional bodies present in the room at the time were Joey Strange (from Patchwork Grace) who was rather excited by the
prospect of a giant sweetie jar,  Starboy from Robin Black who got included in the interview with encouragement from Robin, and
also several members of The Pleasures appeared on numerous occasions.
On completion of the interview we were taken to a table in the main part of the venue and informed we were on Robin’s guest list,
and presented with a peacock patterned wristband to allow us access to gain drinks.
While the bands warmed up and sound checked several humorous incidences occurred including Crip (from Patchwork Grace) in a
box, a football game between Danny, Crip, and James Riot with a roll or electrical tape, and a special appearance from Danny and a
Pumpkin, which appeared on his head from nowhere.
A particularly time stopping moment was when Patchwork Grace did a rendition of  ’So Sick of You’ which drew attention from
every person present, including Robin who was very impressed.
Soon it was time for the doors to open and for people to arrive,  and for the show to kick off.
1st to step up to the stage was a young enthusiastic band named High Society, who were a high energy, excitable band and really
encouraged the audience to move forward and get involved with their show, and particular mention would go to their lead singer who
paced about onstage  and upon occasion jumped down to join the audience.
Next onstage were Patchwork Grace, sporting some new stage props, they were supported by some familiar faces on the front row
and played some popular favourites including ’Soap’, ’Lovecats’ and ’Choc Milk and Cocaine’.
This band never fails not to please, they gave a brilliant onstage chemistry between each member and gave an outstanding
performance, each show they give is packed with energy and this show was definitely no exception.
The next band up onstage was The Pleasures, and the audience were waiting in anticipation for the arrival of the most Glittertastic,
Glamtastic band from Germany.
The band hit the stage with such stage props as feather boa’s, Confetti Guns, and a large of silver and glitter. Their show was one of
the most impactive, I’d ever seen and Dancette is 1 of the most amazing frontmen I’ve seen in some time.
Additional to Dancette’s vocals we were treated to the amazing vocal talents of Lord. They played such great songs as ’Freedom’, ’
Some Like It Rock’ and ’Voyeur’ , this band is definitely 1 to look out for in the future and is not 1 that is easily forgotten, and not for
the faint hearted.
As the band left the stage and audience in ore!! I had the opportunity to collect a guitar pic from Lord and myself and Jaxxi D
managed to get photos and some talk time with members for the band, so many thanks for their time.
Finally onstage was Mr Robin Black, and what can be said about this man and his band but his show was absolutely amazing, it was a
high energy, high powered experience, particular highlights included the high kicking Robin performing some of his well known
professional kicks onstage, also we were treated to some vocals by Starboy and a couple of jokes along the way.
A variety of songs were played and were catered to all, Robin also had some girls attend the gig who he recognised from previous
shows and he let them know he was aware of them.
I managed to get some great shots of the man at work onstage, and of the rest of the band and they seemed to be a close bond
between all members. The treat for all at the end was when Patchwork Grace joined Robin Black and co onstage for a rendition of
Robins song ‘So Sick Of You’
This night was an amazing experience and jammed full of much and many talent, and a great mix of bands, I will look forward to
seeing them all again in the near future.

A thank you too all the bands who spent time with myself and Jaxxi D that evening!!!
