This is my 2nd time seeing The Crue live and again I was in the seated section, because the tickets had sold so quickly for standing. When we got to the venue though at 5pm after having a few drinks in a local bar, however while queuing we were told no cameras or mobiles allowed inside. This was kinda annoying to be honest because as we were to find when we got inside there was no programme for the gig either so it takes away the memories of the gig somewhat. Although we were in a seated section what a view!!! Unlike the poor view of Wembley pavilion in 2005 we had an amazing view of the stage this time round. Papa Roach took the stage at 7.20pm and although I’m not a fan of theirs they are admittedly a pretty good live act, and definitely got the crowd pumped for The Crue. The boys hit the stage at 8.50pm, and from the start it was obvious that there was something slightly different going on. Vince walked to the front of the stage and said this, ‘Ok we have some good news and some bad news, the good news is we’re back in London again, and the bad news, one of us is sick!’ That person was Tommy, he came out onstage after being called out by Vince, but had an ice pack held to his arm, he had apparently injured it over the weekend and injured some tendons in it or something. He told us that his mate was gonna cover for him though, and although this guy who did cover for Tommy did a good job it just ain't the same as having Tommy up there. Tommy could not remain offstage though he came back and forth onstage and even played the solo to Home Sweet Home one handed. One highlight for me was to see Tommy walk out with 1 of the girls and kiss Vince, he was like ‘Oh my god I just got kissed by Tommy Lee’ In their selves the band was amazing, and did not fail to entertain, pyros and fucking loud music, what’s better? You would think though that with us behaving pretty well as fans go the security would not have the need to get involved but they did and not without Nikki getting a bit pissed at this, he looked into the front row and said ‘Ok so this isn’t for you guys (pointing at the fans), its for you (looking down at the security), if the kids on the front row wana show us there titties or grab us, fucking let em, they’ve paid all this money to see us and we want em to get a good show and im warning you if you keep stopping em from having fun then we will beat the shit outta you, that’s a promise.’ Of course the crowd cheered really loudly at this and you could see the security were like damn we better do as he says cos they no they’d have no chance against those guys onstage. Due to Tommy’s injury there was no drum solo but instead we were treated to the most amazing guitar solo by Mick Mars, which quite honestly got anyone seated to stand up immediately (this being Voodoo Chile by Jimi Hendrix,) and Mick played it in a breathtaking way, fuckin awesome!! The only down point I’d say was the show was not long enough and the new hits were not played, but over all fuckin awesome, loud, and full of energy, killer stuff!!!! |
