Red Star Rebels
(13th September)
The Hard Rock
Café, LONDON
When I had the opportunity to go to see the Rebels play at the Hard Rock Café,
it was an opportunity I wasn’t going to miss. I arrived with my mates at the Hard
Rock Café early and was able to catch the guys before the gig for a chat.

The support band hit the stage at 8pm and then the guys at 9pm (slightly late
but worth the wait.) This was a perfect chance to see The Rebels play, and
with some changes to the line up recently we were introduced to Rozzy on
drums, and Benny on bass, both of which were awesome live. The venue itself
offered a more intimate set with the Rebels as there is no barrier and fans are able
to interact with the band as much as they wish. The atmosphere was full of energy
both onstage and off and it was good to see the mix of ages young and old.

The crowd were treated to songs like ‘Victory Victoria’, ‘Black Monday Love
Song’, and ‘Bullet Proof Love’ and of course favourites like ‘Nikki Heartache’
and many more. I have to say Blacky’s voice has amazing range and he really is a
great frontman. There is a familiar sight at The Red Star Rebels gigs which would
be Meady playing two guitars at the same time, but to witness him doing it on the
front row is something else, fucking awesome!!!! As time rolled on the Rebels left
the stage after about an hour of performing and were called back by the fans asking
for more!! Meady and Jonny returned to play some solo stuff and then the rest of
the band returned and Blacky said ‘You don’t even get a chance to take a piss’
(laughing)

The band then went into playing the final song, which was ‘Fast Die Young And Pretty’ which was absolutely amazing.
As before if you haven’t seen these guys live yet, get there and see them because they are Awsome. It was just a shame we
couldn’t hear more and it couldn’t go on longer.
